Shane Snook

Shane Snook
Wandering White Wolf
Shane was raised in Flat Bay, NL. After several years of moving to different cities and provinces as far as Alberta, he now lives in Flat Bay again while working seasonally in Alberta. A good man raised by good people, Shane has learned from a young age the importance of strong morals; he takes every opportunity he can to share these with his daughter. After the recent loss of his father in February, Shane has found a renewed drive to live well and improve the world around him.
As a child, Shane was outgoing and confident. This changed in Elementary School, when a well-placed snide comment from a fellow child crushed his self-confidence. The years of confidence building that were to come may have been painful, but the experience would later offer important insight. Shane encounted a number of other challenges over the years; the military, where he learned the pain of discrimination and value of freedom; separation, where he learned the challenges of distance parenting and the consequences of extreme stress; knee injury, where he learned the importance of financial planning and competent health practicioners; conflict, where he learned patience and forgiveness.
Shane has been capitalizing on every opportunity he can to learn about his heritage and his culture. He has learned a great deal, and strives to embody the Grandfather Teachings on a daily basis. While away from home, he tries to stay connected online to continue learning and to share what he can. During his time at home, Shane attends many cultural and band-related events. He is also participating in the language movement, doing his best to relearn his lost language so that he can help others to do the same.
